Foreign
yachts or yachts wishing to depart overseas from Gordon's Bay must
report to the Harbour Master and obtain a clearance certificate. Final
clearance must then be arranged through Cape Town. A foreign vessel
arriving in Gordon's Bay must also report to the Harbourmaster first
and then clear through Cape Town within 24 hours.

of R50 is payable. Foreign yachts and yachts departing overseas are

to Port Control after obtaining clearance from ZLYC, immigration,
customs and Harbour revenue. SA Yachts proceeding to any SA port must
also submit a "flight plan"

SALDANHA

Formalities
The Port
Captain requires arrival and departure forms to be completed for yachts
sailing offshore. The forms are available at the yacht club and can
be left at the club for collection by the Port Captain's office. On
arrival, foreign yachts must inform the Port Control by radio on VHF
Channel 12, that Customs Clearance is required. The Port Captain will
then advise the Customs Officer who will arrange customs, immigration
and passport control at the yacht club.

SIMON'S
BAY

Formalities
No clearance
formalities are required for South African yachts except to complete
the details required in the departure register at the Club. This takes
only a few seconds and is a Navy regulation. Simon's Town is not a
port of entry and departure for foreign-going vessels. However, once
boats have arrived here, clearance must be arranged through the Navy,
or by going into Cape Town by train after arrival or 36 hours before
departure.

The RCYC
Skippers Register must be completed on arrival and departure. Foreign
yachts/Skippers, when departing South Africa for a foreign destination
must clear as follows:
1. The Yacht Club where they will receive a clearance Certificate.
2. Then proceed to Immigration (Passport Control), Room 535, 5th Floor,
Customs & Excise Building (just outside Adderley Street Customs Gate),
then;
3. To the Harbour Revenue Office, Ben Schoeman Dock.
4. Customs at the Main Gate, where the Yacht Club Clearance Certificate
is required. Local (South African) yachts/Skippers must first get
approval from the Central Revenue office, in Plein Street. They may
also need to get vaccinations and a health certificate - see the Government
Medical Officer, also in the Revenue building in Plein Street.
