is controlled by the South African Transport Services
up to "Die Herberg" thereafter the National Parks Board
takes over.

Approach
& Radio Procedure
The
Langebaan Yacht Club requests all visiting yachts to phone
the Club Manager before departing for Langebaan to ensure
moorings will be available. The Manager is available every
day except Mondays and Tuesdays. Permission must be obtained
from the Saldanha Bay Port Control before entering and
departing Saldanha Bay on Channel 16 - working frequency
Channels 10 and 12. As described under Saldanha Bay, when
crossing the main shipping channel from Saldanha to Langebaan
and vice-versa the Port Control's permission must also
be obtained.
Yachts
are also requested to call the Yacht Club by radio on
Channel 71 when approaching and the call sign is "Langebaan
Yacht Club". When approaching the Club, yachts must tie
up at the floating jetty in front of the Clubhouse where
they will be directed to their mooring.
Club
Facilities & Regulations
The
Club is situated on the south side of Langebaan approximately
300 metres past the Parksboard Offices. It has a full
bar, an ablution block, a braai area which visitors are
welcome to use, a T V, a fire place for winter and a Public
Telephone in the Clubhouse. Water available 5 meters from
jetty at the cost of R5 to fill and R5 to wash boats.
Paraffin, gas and food stocks can be obtained from the
supermarket in the village approximately 1 km away.
Clearance
Formalities
Foreign yachts and yachts departing overseas, are required
to complete their clearance at Saldanha. The Customs Officer
may be contacted through the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club,
tel no: (022) 714 1036. Local yachts are only required
to complete the Skippers Register in the Club and the
departure form.
General
Langebaan Village is approximately 2 kilometres away from
the Yacht Club and has a Post Office, Standard Bank, supermarkets,
Take-aways and restaurants. There is a bus service between
Langebaan and Cape Town.
